| (1) Per Elaine Berchdorf Judd, she noted this may be the same Joseph from above who is living with Benjamen Whitehead in the census. There may of been a gap in when the data was taken, and they (the William Greaser family) may of still been counting him as living with them. | ||||
Greaser Family: William & Mary (Borgman) Greaser were my Great Grandparents. Mary was the daughter of John Garrett Henry Borgman listed in the Borgman Booklet. I am not certain yet if the Greaser’s traveled over to the United States at the same time as the Borgman Family, but I do know that they lived within about 4 miles of each other in the Kingdom of Hannover, Prussia. I suspect they may have traveled on the same ship and then possibly migrated to Virginia together, from Old Town, MD. Julius, the youngest child listed above is my paternal Grandfather. He received land from William & Mary and built his home across from their log cabin where he was born around 1910 after he was married. The house is still standing, and used for family picnics on occasion.
Also, on the chart above, Richard who is listed there is actually "Gustine". His name was Richard Augustine, and apparently all the family and relatives called him Gus or Gustine.
