at the time of the census. At the time the Borgman Booklet was published, it
listed their residence as Wine Street, Cumberland, MD. John was listed as
being deceased. Per obit provided by Thomas O'Toole, his death info was
listed, as well as the Church where the funeral was held & where he was
interred. Waked at home: 78 Wine Street, Cumberland, MD. Listed his sisters
S.M.Hugolina (Wilmington,DE), Mrs.Kate Greisa. & brother George of Cumberland.

According to the Deahl Book, he married Sarah Deahl and they had two
children: Rose Ann & William Clarke. Might have been born in Ireland, not
sure... Found a listing in Cumberland, MD for a marriage on 1846 02/16 for
Clarke, Laughlin to Steel, Sarah, married by Shaw. This is possibly them
and that's why I listed the marriage date as such. I got the marriage record
