Based on 1870 Census sent by Susan Gardiner on 16 Aug '99, Sarah was 16
years old & born in VA. Assume it was Kingwood District, Preston County, VA
since that is where they migrated to. Per Mary C.Borgman, his first wife died
along with 3 children from diptheria. John Gocke got a wet nurse for the baby
they had, and then married the wet nurse.The wet nurse had a small baby of her
own at the time. Per Neva (Culley) Gocke via Email 17 Aug '99, Catherine
Wesling died of child bed fever. The baby died two months later.

Paul & Herman lived together with their families in the same house. They
owned the dairy farm together. Later Herman got his own farm, possibly
raised beef cattle & got a license for a slaughter house later. He'd butcher
deer for guys during hunting season. He made recipes up for deer bolgna &
deer jerky...per Martin Greaser.
