Met him several times on our visits to WV in the summertime growing up. His
wife Maude was my Grandmother's younger sister who died fairly young. He
raised the two kids on his own, never remarried. I have a photo of his
tombstone, it is separate from his wife's. Birthdate is from film of births
from Preston County Courthouse Records.

Info from 1870 census data provided by Susan Gardiner. He was 29 years old on
that census, so birthdate was estimated from that. This might be the brother
that went to Texas, had a farm & when he died it all transferred to his Dena.
That info was provided by Mary C. Borgman via telephone on 15 Aug '99. Census
data was provided 16 Aug '99 from Susan.

Confused as to who his father is, not one I had listed. Charles F. was born
to H. H. Greaser & Martha Greaser in Preston County, WV. Father's residence
was listed as only Preston County, WV. In death record (film #0827559) he
died of Diphtheria, his parents were H.H. Greaser & M.J. Greaser. He was 1yr,
5 mo's & 12 days old. His sister died in less than 3 weeks after him of
Diphtheria also.

Dates are from FHC# 0827560 for deaths which agree with L.Agnes(Greaser)Smith
At time Borgman Booklet was published in Aug 1927, he was married but no kids
were listed. Cause of death was Cerebral Hemmorage. According to Martin
Greaser (nephew), Sam was living with his brother Benedict at time of death.
Ben was out feeding the animals & Sam was sitting on porch sewing his pants.
When Ben came back, Sam was lying on porch, they called a priest to give him
last rights. He was widowed at the time of his death.Birth not listed on film.
