Arkansas", compiled by Maude Graves Coulter, and published in 1951.
After residing in Tuscumbia, AL, they moved to Bolivar, TN where they
remained until 1831. They then went to AR and settled where Ultima Thule now
is, but it was Wilderness at the time. They arrived on the first steamboat
that ever came up the Red River & were the pioneers of Southwest AR. Joseph
named it Ultima Thule, which means "End of the Trail".
