Info from Preston County Courthouse Birth Records. Mother was listed as Lucy
Magdelin Barlow, but there was no father listed, and no residence for father.
Appears baby was born out of wedlock. I have a photo of his tombstone, it's
near his mothers, no father is listed there either.He married & had a daughter
Annabelle, her little tombstone is beside his & his wife's.

Per Catherine Dineen, he was a big heavy man, worked for New England
Telephone Company, Boston, MA. Worked on first lines installed in Maine. He
took part in Scottish Games, throwing discus and that pole (cable toss), size
of a telephone pole. Liked his beer. Wife Jessie MacGILLVARY had no children.
His obit was in The Casket, Antigonish, NS on 7 Apr 1949, p.10, Col 4, said
he was 64 yrs old & had short illness.Said wife Jessie passed few yrs ago.

Per Martin they lived in a small log cabin down below Howesville, on Uncle
Pete Greaser's farm. Pete was one of John Henry & Louisa's children. A
nickname, he was James H. I have census information on Edward's parents from
1850 Alleghany County, MD (Judy Bruce who descended from Ed's brother James
Richards). Death date and cause are from FHC Microfilm#0827559 for Edward,
from Preston County Court Records, I couldn't find listing for his wife Anna.
His middle name Joseph is from my grandmothers SS Aplication, 8-16-1963.

Was in Memorial Hospital Nursing Home, Niagara Falls, NY from 1972-78. Had a
stroke at the age of 93 that parallized her on the right side. She learned to
talk again, but was confined to a wheel chair because she broke her hip and it
was too hard to teach her to walk again. After she died, her body was brought
back to Howesville by Martin. She is buried alongside Julius at St. Joseph's.
SSN is from SSDI, issued in WV in 1963. The house was btwn Irona Coal Co. &
Borgman Coal Co. (west side), then Howesville about 1m past Borgman then Tunne
