until her son Gary contacted my mother, around 1993. He had the birth
certificate and a letter that her parents wrote to a family that they hoped
would adopt her. Reason for adoption is unknown.

birthdate was estimated from that. Per Martin Greaser, she was called Tracy.
Her birth & death dates are from her tombstone which I have a photo of, it's

[308] According to Martin Greaser, Maude died with the birth of her son or shortly
after and Jim Barlow raised the children. Per Maurice (Pete Berchdorf) their
daughter Anna moved in and lived with them for awhile when she was a
teenager. Per Mary Agnes Borgman, Maud died of "Quincy" which was a
throat disease...possibly like "strep throat" but if untreated it may have
killed her. Medical term for "Quinsy" is same as/comparable to Strep throat
or tonsilitis via Strep. Back then medicine was not advanced. Photo tombstone.
