Family Homesite Excursions
Plane2u.gif (20271 bytes) Being able to visit with family seems a thing of the past...but luckily due to this new medium, it's possible to stop in & visit with any of our relatives that have a Homesite (yeah, I'll bet they laughed at the word Homestead too!) on the Super Highway, or maybe even meet at a Cafe on the Highway for a chat. Who knows what is possible...

As a means to help show the way to some of the rest of our family, below are some addresses of those that are only moments away for you. As a matter of fact, they are just off the Highway <grin>. If you click on the hypertext it'll be just like turning into their driveway!

Elaine & Jamie Judd:   Elaine was my first new-found relative.   I found her out there on the Super Highway as she too was searching for ancestors. Little did we know that we shared Lucinda Brott & Edward Richards, who were my Grandmother's (Lucy Richards) parents. Elaine's Great-Grandmother, Mary Alice Richards, was a sister to my Grandmother. And, it was via Elaine I was able to obtain copies of the Borgman Reunions, and my Aunt Aggie's wedding photo. It was so wonderful to find photos of my Dad as a little tyke!! Hahaha  So, pop on over and visit with Elaine, I'm sure you'll just love her hospitality!!

Louis & Helga Smith:   Now, just how could someone with such a common name be related to folks with such an uncommon name? Well, in the case of Lou it’s true.  As a matter of fact, I found him on the Super Highway during my quest for ancestors.  I happened to spot on his Homesite a statement saying he had a book about the "Five Borgman Brothers", and I just knew he was related.  I later discovered via conversations with Lou, that his Grandparents, the Bobo’s lived right next door to Julius & Lucy Greaser, and my father was one of the altar boys along with Lou during the wedding of Lou's Aunt Nellie...small world, huh? <smile> Lou is from the Nicholas Borgman side of the family, who was a brother to my GG-Grandfather John Garrett Borgman.

Guy Snyder:   Similar to Elaine, I found Guy via a query. I emailed him to find out if there was any connection. His response back was he wasn’t sure, the furthest one back he had was Frank Greaser. According to my database, Frank was my G-Grandfather’s (William Greaser) brother. Guy is my third cousin-once removed.

Jana Greaser:   Jana is my first cousin once removed (Richie Greaser's daughter).  She just started her own website, so I hope you take the time to pop in and visit hers as it grows.  Way to go Jana!!

Richie Greaser:  Richie is my first cousin, and he has a website on-line they are building to showcase his knives.  He is an expert at what he does, we own two of his knives, and they are beautifully made.   He also made my parents a beautiful one for their 50th Wedding Anniversary.   Jana is still creating the site for her Dad, so stop by periodically to see the new stuff!!

Tim & Bridgett Syrews:  Tim is also a first cousin, once removed. We hadn't seen each other in nearly 30 years, but having the Homesite here has brought us back together along with other family members.  They have a nice site in Weston, WV....check it out by clicking on their names at the top!

Ruth (Richards) DuChateau:  Ruth's father (John T. Richards), and my Grandmother, Lucy (Richards) Greaser were siblings.   Years ago Ruth sent my mother some Genealogy information, along with Xerox copies of photos of the Edward Richards family.  So, thanks to Ruth we're able to see what my G-Grandparents looked like. She is quite involved in a Garden Club in Florida, so mosey on down for a visit!

Richard DuChateau:  If you'd like to visit with Ruth's son who lives in the Mclean, VA area...just click on his name.

Walt Warnick:  I staggered upon Walt's site one day while doing some searches on the Allegany County, MD website.  He has information on the Warnick's, which include all the ancestors of Ruth (Richards) DuChateau's mother, Ethel Warnick.

Father Jim Edmiston, O.F.M.: Father Jim's name was given to me by Lou Smith, the Genealogist in Germany had passed it on to him.  It was his old address at the Franciscan High School in Parma, OH.  After doing a few different searches on the Net, I was able to obtain his current Email address. He is quite the traveler, has spent much time in Germany and has done a lot of past research on the Borgman Family. Fr. Jim is descended down through the Johann Niklolaus line, and, what's even better, also through my Greaser line!  He is descended down through the Greise line that migrated back to the Cumberland, MD area. So, stroll on over and visit with Fr. Jim if you have the time.

Welcome Aboard LST 996:   This site belongs to my Dad, Martin Greaser.  I created it in 1998 as a Father's Day/Birthday gift for him.  It showcases the Landing Ship Tank he was on during WW2, and information about the war. So, if you want to take a cruise, come on Aboard!! <g>

Charles County Literacy Council:   This one is special to my heart since I created the website, and I have put in about 13 years or more helping the Literacy Council and tutoring Adult Non-Readers.   PLEASE, if you can read, you can tutor someone that can't read!!  So, take a stroll through, and then if you're interested in helping someone read, please contact your local Literacy Council.
