                  to Lingayen Gulf

10/22/45    Underway to South Harbor after Retracting
10/23/45    Unloaded cargo to AKA 96, then underway for Manila, P.I. & dropped
                  anchor
10/26/45    Steaming from Manila, Luzon, P.I. to Leyte, P.I.
10/28/45    Dropped anchor in San Pedro Bay, Leyte, P.I.

11/03/45    Underway to Balusao Point to take on fresh water, then moored in
                  Lavaan Bay, Leyte, P.I.
11/04/45    Anchored in Tolosa, Leyte, P.I. then to San Pedro Bay, Leyte, P.I. to
                  refuel ship
11/09/45    Balusao water hole for fresh water then steamed to Guivan, Samar, PI
11/10/45    Commenced loading LCVP's on main deck, 3 LCM's also loaded
11/12/45    Steaming from Guivan, Samar, P.I. bound for Pearl Harbor
11/16/45    Bow doors were still holding because now had strong backs welded to
                  keep closed

12/01/45    Moored in Berth 7 West Loch, P.I. took on oil, fuel, fresh water, etc.
12/03/45    Underway from P.I. to San Diego, CA
12/06/45    Picked up Tonya (Antonia) Jones from a small sail boat "Audacious"
12/14/45    Entered San Diego Harbor and Tug TB-266 "Pochantus" came along
                  side to assist LST 996 to the dock. Mrs. Tonya Jones left ship with
                  many reporters
12/16/45    Unloaded LCVP's and other craft
12/18/45    Steaming from San Diego, CA to San Pedro, CA and dropped anchor

  1/03/46    Captain Lt./JG C.P. Ellis III was relieved of duty. Lt./JG J R. O'Connor
                  came aboard as Captain of LST 996. Anchored in San Pedro Bay, CA
  1/10/46    Commenced unloading supplies and provisions
  1/15/46    Alfred A. Hunter, with 36 1/4 points

  2/06/46    At Terminal Island, crew left Ship
  2/21/46    Moored to LST 166 for power and salt water for fire fighting

  3/23/46    Alfred A. Hunter was transferred to receiving station to be shipped to
                  Bainbridge, MD by Box Cars

  4/05/46    Underway to shift berth by tugs, then moored starboard to AKA 105 in US
