Above is a simple map of Scotland.  If you look towards the middle of the map you will see Knoydart shown there. Go a little southwest and you will find Arisaig.  This is where John Gillis migrated from with his family.  After arriving in Nova Scotia (New Scotland), the pioneers to that area called it Arisaig.   To this day it still retains the same name.
