Morar, Scotland

After finding Jura on the map above (just below the maps center), go directly     
nothwards and you will find Arisaig, close to the shoreline. Just a little north of   
that is Morar, Scotland.  If you reach the "Skye" you have gone to far!              

My G-Grandfather's (John Angus Gillis) ancestor (also a John Gillis) came from Morar, Scotland. As a matter of fact, he supposedly had a brother Angus Gillis on the ship Hector that brought over the Glenendale people. Angus though chose to change his surname from Gillis to MacDonald (Ref: History of Antigonish County by Raymond MacLean).  To this day his descendants are MacDonald's. John Gillis settled in Georgeville (Cape George, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia).
