Martin "Dusty" A. Greaser: United States Navy. Enlisted 23 November 1943, and was honorably discharged on 6 January 1946. He served aboard USS LST 996 as a Motor Machinist Mate, 3rd Class in the auxiliary engine room aboard ship. His LST was awarded two battle stars before decommissioning in May 1946. He was considered a "Plank-owner", someone that was with the ship from the beginning and throughout their entire tour of duty. Martin is an older brother to Elmer listed below. Elmer Richard Greaser: United States Army, 8th Army Aircorps. Enlisted June 1946, and was honorably discharged in 1948. He served during WW2 as a Crew chief for the Mustang Fighter Group, P51 Model D. He was sent abroad during his tour to Germany. Elmer is a brother to Martin Greaser listed above.
