To date I have only found two of the Ships carrying my ancestors to America. See the lists below, and take your shipride to the passenger lists!

British
Queen

British Queen: My 4th G-Grandfather, John Gillis and his family (Flora MacEachern) along with their two sons it appears, were aboard the British Queen. Their fare was 4.6 for their passage to Nova Scotia. They were the pioneers to Cape George, Nova Scotia. This area is now Georgeville, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia. If you click on the ship at the left, you can take a ship ride to the passenger list. He arrived in 1780 to Nova Scotia.

McDonald: Donald & Isabella McDonald came from County Ross and Cromarty, Scotland to Nova Scotia in the early 1830s I suspect. My GG-Grandfather, Neil McDonald was born in Nova Scotia near Dewars Farm in 1838.

Ship
Lucilla

Borgman’s: My GG-Grandfather, John Garrett (Gehrd) Henry Borgman and his family arrived in Sep 1837 at the Port of Richmond from the Kingdom of Hannover, Prussia (now Germany). Lou Smith passed me some information, and I discovered after viewing the full passenger list, it was them! On board was my GG-Grandmother's (Lucy Margaret Deaker) sister, Catherine, and her husband Garrett (Gehrd) Arns (Ahrens).  They came to America aboard Ship Lucilla which is on-line at the Immigrant Ship Transcribers Guild (ISTG) . If you click on the ship at the left you can take a ship ride to the passenger list!! My deep appreciation to Mary Koelzer for transcribing the passenger list for ISTG!   Note: When you get to ISTG, go to Volume 2, then to Virginia for "arrival port" and then click on Ship Lucilla, 1837. Below is a list of our ancestors as recorded on  the list:

#27    Joh Hein Borgman        Straten        son                16       Must be his brother, not son
#28    Caroline Borgman        Straten        daughter         2
Possibly Nicholas's child
#135  Gerhd Ahrens              *St?rten        labourer       29      Called Garrett Arns
#136  Catharine Ahrens          St?rten        wife               29
Sister to Lucy Margaret above

Lou discovered in Ankum, that Straten is a FARM about 2 miles south of Ankum, and that is where our Borgman's apparently lived and worked prior to coming to America.

Greaser’s: My G-Grandfather, William Henry Greaser came to America as a young boy with his father Dietrich (Richard) and mother Margaret. I suspect they emigrated from Bremen sometime around mid-late 1830s. I know they lived in the  Cumberland, MD area for 5-10 years before they migrated to Preston County, VA (now WV). Some of their children were married there, and grandchildren born there. I am currently still searching for their Ship (Sep 1999). In 1845, they were instrumental in building the first St. Joseph's Church structure (made of logs) in Preston County, VA.

Dineen Family: My GG-Grandfather, Maurice Dineen seems to have emigrated from County Kerry, Ireland possibly in the 1830s to Huntingdon, Quebec, Canada. His family was very  instrumental in building St. Joseph's de Huntingdon around 1845. It's so ironic that my GG-Grandparents on my mother and father's sides were both in the midst of building a St. Joseph Church in the year 1845, over a thousand miles apart.

I on the other hand landed in Bryans Road, Maryland (after graduating from College) by car in July 1977 and I've been here ever since...hahaa.  I have lived in Waldorf, Charles County, Maryland since December 1979, which is about 25 miles southeast of Washington, DC.
